CPAC day one recap… The #CarlyFiorina Edition

There were excellent speeches from the main stage at CPAC yesterday; of note were Chris Christie, who is an excellent speaker and very comfortable taking questions, Scott Walker and Carly Fiorina.

Governor Scott Walker is definitely running and made that even more clear in his evening speech, which was excellent.

But by far the very best speech of the entire day was Carly Fiorina, who wasted no time directly addressing each of her rivals on the other side of the aisle, eviscerating Hillary Clinton with a scathing comment on actually accomplishing something. The mood in the room was electric.

Her emergence as a presidential candidate is a welcome surprise. I can’t wait to see and hear more from her.

Here are some photos from yesterday, it was a great day one.

Playing the Ebola race card

Thomas Duncan has died of the Ebola Virus and the race vultures are out in full force.

Even the family, who may or may not have been complicit in Duncan’s deception, is under the spell of the grievance hustler Al Sharpton. Sharpton is advising the family on their “options” as he clearly smells a windfall and is, as always first in line to get paid.

Duncan was a native of Liberia. So his health may not have been very good to begin with. Comparing him to the three American patients who were flown home at the first sign of becoming ill and given experimental drugs is premature. Those drugs are gone because of our ridiculously over regulated FDA. And all patients don’t respond in the same way to treatments.

We need more information. In the interim until we get it, blame big government, not racism.

When opportunists strike #SOTR

When opportunists strike #SOTR

I’m perplexed by something that is happening more often of late on social media; a firestorm of sorts wherein an individual seeking fame and notoriety takes it upon themselves to attack a female conservative hoping to gain benefit from causing their fall.

Of course that never works, as has been proven time and time again by great individuals in every area of professional life. The only thing that elevates you is your own hard work dedication and willingness to sacrifice things that matter to you to achieve your goals.

So why am I writing about it? Its pretty simple, because the person who’s been attacked is a dear friend of mine and I feel compelled to respond. The conundrum is how to reach out and club an individual over the head properly with truth and facts when any level of attention would only serve to elevate that person? I’m up to it.

A few years ago when there was a change of leadership in the St. Louis Tea Party Coalition, Dana gathered us together at her home and we brainstormed late into the night. No animosity, just a desire to continue the successful grassroots efforts that she started. For years I’ve attended her appearances and seen her in action, correcting misconceptions pushed by the left while engaging and encouraging others to join the fight for smaller government: always creating, innovating, connecting, and leading.

So instead of sending clicks to an enemy, I’ll tell you what I’ve seen with my own eyes, blinding creativity, insatiable drive, and a willingness to sacrifice precious time with her sons and husband. I’ve sat with Dana Loesch at midnight after a long day for her speaking on panels at CPAC in Washington, at Morton’s Steak House. While she picks at a wedge salad, she’s editing stories and posting them on Breitbart. While she and her ever present husband Chris are networking and paying for the entire table’s tab, Dana’s also answering emails and compiling stories for her radio show the next day. There’s no rest for those that desire to be successful.

So when I hear allegations that Dana slept her way up or somehow was lazy in her work at any point it makes me laugh. There were numerous occasions when those in her inner circle asked her to slow down because there were sparks flying, she was sick too often for our liking. But she refused and the result is the fastest ever national syndication and a nightly TV show.

As I’m writing this it occurs to me that I am concerned for naught. Don’t I always say on my show that “Whatever God has for you no man can take?”

That the “Glory of The Lord is our rear guard” and that “His eyes continually roam the earth seeking a righteous man (or woman) that he can show himself strong in”? Yes. And those aren’t my words they are from the Bible.

So I remain steadfast and loyal to the friendship and support of my friends knowing that these battles appear earthly but are truly fought on our knees in prayer.

You only take flak when you’re over the target. Keep fighting Dana.

#BlackLivesMatter protester: “You must follow the orders of the police”

#BlackLivesMatter protester: “You must follow the orders of the police”

I have a lot of respect for an individual who is willing to undergo training scenarios in order to understand the position of his opponent. That’s exactly what happened here in the case of anti police violence activist Rev. Maupin; he chose to undergo use of force training scenarios with his local law-enforcement agency to explore the arguments of those supporting the position of law enforcement.

The result; Rev. Maupin now understands that decisions law-enforcement officers routinely make happen in a matter of seconds and are a matter of life and death. During the training exercises, he uses his firearm to shoot an unarmed man. Rev. Maupin experiences genuine fear for his life, a game changer for him. As he sums up his change of heart he clearly states that “you must comply with the orders of police.”

FOX 10 News |

As the daughter of a police chief this has been my position from day one. Not complying with the orders of law enforcement can result in your apprehension, or physical harm. Why risk that?

This discussion has been woefully absent from the national discourse by so called protest leadership and the notorious “Reverend” Al Sharpton. If these leaders truly thought black lives mattered, wouldn’t they offer suggestions on how to prevent negative encounters with police which might result in death?

Why not tell protesters that the simplest way is to avoid criminal activity. In encounters with police, answer their questions and comply with their orders. Stating these truths is the right thing to do. Don’t hold out hope that Sharpton or other social justice mouthpieces will ever take the path Rev. Maupin has chosen. There’s no money in it.

I’ve been profiled. So what?

I’ve been profiled. So what?

It has come to my attention that some people think that because I’m advocating for personal responsibility, self-control and respecting law-enforcement officers that I’ve never experienced racism.

Folks are accusing me of never being pulled over for driving while black, of never being asked why I’m in a certain neighborhood, of never having a police officer demean me in front of my children – NOT TRUE!

I just have a totally different response: I don’t attack police officers. There are rude donkeys in every profession. Just because I’ve encountered a few more than I deserve in my lifetime doesn’t mean I won’t DIAL 911 in an emergency. Respect the badge.

Get over yourselves. You do realize that mean people whose lives suck are gonna hate right? What should you do? Let it ruin your whole life or pay that ticket and get on about about your business? I choose the latter.

File a complaint if you have a grievance. Hands Up Don’t Shoot is a myth that was disproven by a mountain of evidence extensively reviewed by a grand jury. The real conversation should start at reducing the outsized level of crime in our community.

It’s time to move on.

BREAKING: New Black Panthers arraigned on Fed charges for attempted pipe bomb purchase in #Ferguson

BREAKING: New Black Panthers arraigned on Fed charges for attempted pipe bomb purchase in #Ferguson

November 21, 2014

Tonight the leader of the St. Louis chapter of the New Black Panther Party Olajuwon Davis (Ali)  Member Brandon Orlando Baldwin (Brandon Muhammad) were arraigned on Federal charges in the court of judge Hon. Shirley Mensah for trying to purchase pipe bombs.  Both defendants will be appointed counsel before the upcoming hearing this week.  Undercover FBI agents caught the two after they purchased two .45 ACP handguns at Cabelas in Hazelwood, MO.

The indictment was handed up Wednesday and unsealed today accusing Brandon Orlando Baldwin and Olajuwon Davis of making false statements to obtain firearms. The defendants’ ages and addresses were not made public.

According to the indictment, between Nov. 1 and 13, Baldwin, also known as Brandon Muhammad, and Olajuwon, also known as Olajuwon Ali and Brother Ali, acquired two Hi-Point .45 ACP pistols at the store, claiming that Baldwin was the buyer when, in fact, the weapons were intended for someone else.

The straw gun purchases and attempt to buy pipe bombs were in preparations to destroy The Arch by blowing it up as a sign of white racial oppression as well as killing as many cops as they could during the impending unrest in Ferguson after the grand jury decision is announced.  They were arrested this Friday morning.

The suspects are being held on Attempt to Make Weapons Straw Purchase and Aiding and Abetting a Straw Purchase.  Davis and Baldwin wanted to purchase up to ten pipe bombs, but could only afford three.  Both have confessed to wanting to kill Prosecutor Bob McCulloch, and as many policemen as possible.  Their detention hearing is set for next week to consider elevating the charges from Attempt to Possess an Explosive Device to Attempt to Possess a Weapon of Mass Destruction.  I earlier reported that this was the charge, but have had an update.

There is concern over charging the men with Attempting to Possess a Weapon of Mass Destruction, as it would automatically place  the case in Federal court and would then be handled by the Department of Justice.  Not exactly an agency known for dealing strongly with the New Black Panthers.

Police officers with the St. Louis City Police Department were instructed by the White House and Attorney General Holder’s DOJ not to speak with reporters and media, to “Keep a lid on it”.  What an irresponsible thing to order in light of the dangerous nature of the plot the FBI just foiled!  My police source provided this information on the condition of anonymity.

Here are some of the Olajuwon Davis’s (Ali) radicalized Facebook postings:

Olajuwon Ali also teaches classes on “Lessons of Law”.

This flies in the face of comments made earlier today by County Executive Charley Dooley that there are no major safety concerns posed by the upcoming grand jury announcement.

My calls to the St. Louis Police Department‘s Chief Dotson on his cell phone and office line for comment, have not been returned.

The story now has legs: links into this piece via The Gateway Pundit!  KMOV and CBS have sanitized versions up as well.

Ebola: Why the Federal Government has a credibility problem #SOTR

Ebola: Why the Federal Government has a credibility problem #SOTR

Why the Federal Government has a Credibility Problem

by Jim Sharp, PCP
Vice President & Chief Training Officer
Aegis Emergency Management

“There is no cause for alarm if precautions are observed.” Sounds familiar, right? But it’s not a quote about the current Ebola outbreak. It’s a quote from Rupert Blue, the then Surgeon General of the United States, regarding the 1918 “Spanish Flu” influenza pandemic. At the time he said that, influenza and its complications had killed 4597 people just in the city of Philadelphia and just during the week of October 16th, 1918. By the time it was “over” it had killed approximately 675,000 Americans.

Ebola won’t do that – at least not here and not as it presently exists – but people don’t believe what they’re being told for a lot of the same reasons, first among those being the apparent inability of the Federal government to do even the simplest things. Here’s what I mean: The first confirmed Ebola patient was admitted to the hospital on September 28th, confirmed to have Ebola on September 30th and passed away on October 8th, but it was not UNTIL October 8th that the Federal government announced its plans to increase the level of screening at airports receiving flights from West Africa. That “enhanced” screening – which consists basically of taking temperatures and asking a few questions – did not go into effect until October 11th (the same day the 2nd Ebola case was confirmed) and even then it only took effect at one airport. The other airports did not even begin their enhanced screening until October 16th.

Seriously, how long does it take (or how long should it take) to buy a bunch of thermometers and teach people how to use them? Most American parents learn that in about 30 seconds. Schools routinely ask parents to keep a sick child at home, but as a country we can’t (or won’t) institute a travel ban from regions where an outbreak with a 50%-70% mortality rate is raging? And yes, most people do indeed see that disparity and that’s the root of the government’s credibility problem. The common-sense things that they ask us to do, or that we would do as a matter of course, are not being done at the very highest levels.

Case in point: the recent announcement that military members returning from service in the epidemic area will be held in isolation for the length of the Ebola incubation period (generally agreed upon as 21 days maximum). Why require isolation of military personnel, but not of civilians returning from the very same areas?

And the credibility coup de grace for me personally was the CDC Emergency Partners conference call I participated in on October 23rd. The CDC doctor leading the call started by giving the then-current morbidity and mortality figures (which as of 10/22 were 9901 confirmed cases and 4865 fatal cases, for a mortality rate of about 49%), then followed up with a list of what he termed “challenges” to containing the virus in West Africa. Some of the challenges he mentioned included lack of medical infrastructure, fear and superstition, and porous borders – which sort of begged the question: If the CDC acknowledges porous borders as a challenge to containment, why are our own borders allowed to remain open?

Look at it this way – if you knew with a high degree of certainty that your car was going to catch fire after you got home from work, would you leave it parked on the street or would you go ahead and bring it into your garage, secure in your belief that you’d be able to detect and extinguish the fire before it spread to your home and family . . .

Missouri November Ballot Measures: Voter Guide #SOTR

Missouri November Ballot Measures: Voter Guide #SOTR

November Election Voter Guide

The Missouri Secretary of State lists the following measures up for a vote on November 4th.  I have my recommendations after each proposal in bold type.  Don’t forget to select a paper ballot when you vote!!  See you at the polls.

Official Ballot Title  Constitutional Amendment 2  [full text

[Proposed by the 97th General Assembly (First Regular Session) HJR 16]

Official Ballot Title:

Shall the Missouri Constitution be amended so that it will be permissible to allow relevant evidence of prior criminal acts to be admissible in prosecutions for crimes of a sexual nature involving a victim under eighteen years of age?

If more resources are needed to defend increased prosecutions additional costs to governmental entities could be at least $1.4 million annually, otherwise the fiscal impact is expected to be limited.

Fair Ballot Language:

“yes” vote will amend the Missouri Constitution to allow evidence of prior criminal acts, whether charged or uncharged, to be considered by courts in prosecutions of sexual crimes that involve a victim under eighteen years of age.  The amendment limits the use of such prior acts to support the victim’s testimony or show that the person charged is more likely to commit the crime.  Further, the judge may exclude such prior acts if the value of considering them is substantially outweighed by the possibility of unfair prejudice to the person charged with committing the crime.

“no” vote will not amend the Missouri Constitution regarding the use of evidence of prior criminal acts to prosecute sexual crimes.

If passed, this measure will have no impact on taxes.

Voting Yes on this one.  Juries often allow much more leeway if they think the incident is a child molester’s first offense.  This amendment would permit them to consider the totality of convictions for crimes against children.

Official Ballot Title  Constitutional Amendment 3  [full text

[Proposed by Initiative Petition]

Official Ballot Title:

Shall the Missouri Constitution be amended to:

  • require teachers to be evaluated by a standards based performance evaluation system for which each local school district must receive state approval to continue receiving state and local funding;
  • require teachers to be dismissed, retained, demoted, promoted and paid primarily using quantifiable student performance data as part of the evaluation system;
  • require teachers to enter into contracts of three years or fewer with public school districts; and
  • prohibit teachers from organizing or collectively bargaining regarding the design and implementation of the teacher evaluation system?

Decisions by school districts regarding provisions allowed or required by this proposal and their implementation will influence the potential costs or savings impacting each district. Significant potential costs may be incurred by the state and/or the districts if new/additional evaluation instruments must be developed to satisfy the proposal’s performance evaluation requirements.

Fair Ballot Language:

yes” vote will amend the Missouri Constitution to require teachers to be evaluated by a standards based performance evaluation system. Each system must receive state approval in order for the local school district to continue receiving state and local funding. Teachers will be dismissed, retained, demoted, promoted and paid primarily using quantifiable student performance data as part of the evaluation system. The amendment further requires teachers to enter into contracts of three years or fewer with public school districts, with exceptions. The amendment also prohibits teachers from organizing or collectively bargaining regarding the design and implementation of the teacher evaluation system.

“no” vote will not amend the Missouri Constitution regarding teacher contracts and performance evaluation systems.

If passed, this measure will have no impact on taxes.

Recommend a vote of No on Amendment 3.  This weakens local control.  Elected School Board Members and school administrators  that directly held accountable by voters should make decisions of this nature at the local level.

Official Ballot Title  Constitutional Amendment 6  [full text

[Proposed by the 97th General Assembly (Second Regular Session) SS SCS HCS HJR 90]

Official Ballot Title:

Shall the Missouri Constitution be amended to permit voting in person or by mail for a period of six business days prior to and including the Wednesday before the election day in general elections, but only if the legislature and the governor appropriate and disburse funds to pay for the increased costs of such voting?

State governmental entities estimated startup costs of about $2 million and costs to reimburse local election authorities of at least $100,000 per election. Local election authorities estimated higher reimbursable costs per election. Those costs will depend on the compensation, staffing, and, planning decisions of election authorities with the total costs being unknown.

Fair Ballot Language:

“yes” vote will amend the Missouri Constitution to permit voters, in years when the legislature provides funding, an early voting period of six business days prior to and including the Wednesday before election day to cast a ballot in all general elections. This amendment does not allow early voting on Saturday or Sunday.

“no” vote will not amend the Missouri Constitution to provide all voters with a six-business day early voting period.

If passed, this measure will have no impact on taxes.

Voting No on Amendment 6.  I disagree that this measure will have no impact on taxes if passed.  The projected cost of running early voting listed in the Official Ballot Title language, will be passed on to taxpayers  necessitating additional funding measures which are — wait for it, taxes!

Official Ballot Title  Constitutional Amendment 10  [full text

[Proposed by the 97th General Assembly (Second Regular Session) HJR 72]

Official Ballot Title:

Shall the Missouri Constitution be amended to require the governor to pay the public debt, to prohibit the governor from relying on revenue from legislation not yet passed when proposing a budget, and to provide a legislative check on the governor’s decisions to restrict funding for education and other state services?

State governmental entities expect no direct costs or savings. Local governmental entities expect an unknown fiscal impact.

Fair Ballot Language:

“yes” vote will amend the Missouri Constitution regarding the requirements placed on the governor for proposing a state budget and for withholding money appropriated in the budget passed by the legislature. This amendment prohibits the governor from reducing funding passed by the general assembly without receiving legislative consent, and provides certain other restrictions on the governor’s ability to increase or decrease line items in the budget. This amendment further prohibits the governor from proposing a budget that relies on revenue from legislation that has not yet passed in the general assembly.

“no” vote will not amend the Missouri Constitution regarding the requirements placed on the governor for proposing a state budget and for withholding money appropriated in the budget passed by the legislature.

If passed, this measure will have no impact on taxes.

Yes on Amendment 10.  This is a much-needed Amendment.  Governor Nixon has made a habit of withholding funds from education leaving school districts in the lurch.  While this is essentially a battle between a governor and an opposing legislature, the amendment prevents future governors of any party using from this technique.

Commemorative ‘Yes We Can’ Build a Firearm Product

We would like to thank President Barrack Obama for being the distinguished firearms industry spokesman and salesmen of all time. We are now producing what we believe he would really want in an “Blaster.”

Much like Marvin, Barry is believed to be an alien and also was in possession of an illudium Q-36 explosive space modulator. Unfortunately for us, Barry believes that the United States is not only blocking his view of Venus, but is also blocking his social and political views with our pesky Constitution. Luckily, after 2,000 years of research and when he was finally ready to use the Illudium Q-36 explosive space modulator to destroy the Constitution and the United States, Bugs Bunny saved the day and destroyed this device!

If good ol’ Barry had been in possession of a “blaster” such as this, maybe things would have been different for Bugsy. It might have actually been Rabbit season.

In either case we proudly introduce “Obama’s Blaster.”
(We do not think Barrack Obama actually endorses this product and the entire write up is a very clear case of Parody for the purpose of symbolic speech).

You gotta love that!!!
