When I was nine, I watched to two airplanes crash into the World Trade Center in New York City. My young eyes saw people running in terror through the streets and for a moment, the entire world stopped. Most adults did not think children understood what exactly happened on one of the most heart-wrenching days in U.S. history however, my young brain fully comprehended the impact. For the first time since Pearl Harbor, the land of the free and the home of the brave was under attack, and it occurred without a moments notice.

In a press conference on Thursday, President Obama admitted he currently has no strategy when it comes to the ISIS problem. He relayed to reporters that he would continue to consult with congress and the American people about any action he would want to take in Syria.

According to Breitbart he said, “I do not want to put the cart before the horse,” he said. “We do not have a strategy yet.” He also said that the mayhem in Syria is a political issue and not an exclusive military issue. Lastly, he admitted the U.S. is currently doing nothing to solve the Ukrainian problem even though the entire world knows Vladamir Putin is acting aggressively.

After unloading his zero action policy, Obama packed his bags and headed north for a few Democratic fundraisers leaving many Americans puzzled. ISIS is no longer a possibility or a figment of our imagination. They are a real group that has existed for a long time, and we are only learning about them now.

Fox News reported this week that a laptop was recently recovered from an Islamic State Jihadist containing secret plans including, using the bubonic plague as a weapon and lessons on bombing vehicles.

However, the most chilling files were those indicating the computers owner, who was identified as a Tunisian national Muhammed S. who joined ISIS in Syria. According to Fox News, “He was teaching himself how to manufacture biological weapons, in preparation for a potential attack that could have been catastrophic on a global scale. “

The document Muhammed was constructing on his laptop said, “ The advantage of biological weapons is that they do not cost a lot of money, while the human casualties can be huge.”

If we have all of this information indicating that there are plans to attack the U.S. why is little action being taken against ISIS? On Sept. 11 2001, the U.S. was turned upside down. When President Bush declared war against the terrorists, he received criticism. When Obama was elected, his entire goal was to eliminate Iraq and Syria from the equation in order to gain the presidential office. However, the only thing he has managed to do as President is create more chaos with his continuous inaction and little knowledge of exactly what is going on.

Can I say for sure there will be another terrorist attack in the U.S.? No. However, I can say without hesitation that if we do not step up as a nation, leadership wise, we face the possibility of experiencing another Sept. 11. Will it take reliving the same day at a different time and place for our country to wake up and realize if you have little action, you will pay the consequences? I hope not.
