Last year, I was interviewed on this topic by NewsMagazine Network.  My position remains the same.  Unaccredited school districts should be dismantled and the children should be given vouchers.  Accredited school districts should be protected because they offer a high quality educational product.

Stacy Washington, a mother of three children in Ladue schools and a member of the school board, said she, too, is disappointed the issue was not resolved during the last legislative session in Jefferson City.

“This kind of issue couldn’t have come at a worse time, given the budget problems that public schools, including those in Ladue, are dealing with right now,” she said.

Washington says all children are entitled to a good education, regardless of where they live, but the questions surrounding a potentially large number of students transferring to other districts are major and cannot always be addressed quickly.

I’ll be there with my school choice chicks!

Stacy
