    Shayn Roby’s Take: The United Auto Workers negotiated themselves right out of a job. Auto manufacturers could no longer compete with foreign manufacturers due to high labor costs and outrageous benefit packages. Everyone moved away when the auto companies slowly started going bankrupt. Companies started flocking to places that are affordable for industry, such as Texas, Tennessee, and South Carolina.

    Hopefully, Missouri will join those states during the next session of our Legislature, since we didn’t get it passed this
    session.
