Chicago killings continue with 5 dead and 18 wounded last weekend

Chicago is a war zone. The report leaves out two very salient points about each assailant and victim: their race and gang affiliation. How much of this weekends carnage was gang related? PC reporting requires that we suspend reasoning and that’s illogical.

Also of note is how strict gun control laws are in Chicago.

CHICAGO — Five people were killed and at least 18 people were injured in shootings across the city this weekend, including a 12-year-old boy injured in an accidental shooting.

The latest slaying took place Sunday about 2:10 a.m. in the 300 block of South Cicero Avenue, where a man was shot in the face, police said.

Edward Jordan, 53, of the 4900 block of West Lexington Street, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and pronounced dead at 8:05 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

On Saturday night, a woman was killed and two others were shot while the group was in Ryan Harris Memorial Park in Englewood, said Officer Hector Alfaro, a police spokesman.

The victims were standing in a group with others when at least one shooter fired in their direction about 9:10 p.m. in the 6800 block of South Lowe Avenue.
