Time.com is reporting that the Pentagon will no longer bar transgender people from serving in the armed forces.

In a statement, Secretary of Defense Ash Carter said that the existing regulations against transgender service members were “outdated” and “causing uncertainty” that distracts troop commanders.

As a fourth generation veteran, this decision frightens me to no end.  Not because I’m a fearful person, or I don’t trust God, but because it is another sign that everything that was once normal, and solid and dependable, is gone.

Military readiness depends upon cohesion and discipline.  Every bit of training that troops receive centers on this.  Men cannot be expected to follow orders (you must blindly trust your commander in order to go into a war zone and fight to kill) if your commander is a man dressed as a woman, or a woman dressed up like a man.

Secretary of Defense Ash Carter appears to have an inkling that this policy will present difficulties.  He has issued two directives; the formation of a working group and the removal of the power to separate military members who have gender dysphoria.

“At my direction, the working group will start with the presumption that transgender persons can serve openly without adverse impact on military effectiveness and readiness, unless and except where objective, practical impediments are identified.”

Hmmn.  Interesting, that the presumption that transgenders can serve openly comes before the actual investigation into just how that will be accomplished in real time military operations.  This assumption disregards the opinions of thousands of seasoned military leaders and places them in the position of having to disagree with this illogical assumption when reporting on their concerns regarding the new policy.  This is completely backwards, and transparent in it’s intent: to quash any disagreement from the field.  Another ill conceived socially motivated decision forced on service members from on high.

Secretary Ash then goes on to codify his decision by taking authority away from commanders in the field.

“Second, I am directing that decision authority in all administrative discharges for those diagnosed with gender dysphoria or who identify themselves as transgender be elevated to Under Secretary Carson, who will make determinations on all potential separations.”

Until just recently, the term for transgender people was Gender Identity Disorder.  This malady was considered a mental illness with treatment being necessary to cope.  Now, it’s something that some want celebrated and now the military will accept it as normal behavior placing the feelings of a purported 15,000 transgendered service members over military readiness.

Wanna know who LOVES this development?  Our enemies abroad; the Russians, ISIS and Al Qaida.  Every enemy now knows that we no longer place our security above our societies social ills.  Now that they know this, they will act accordingly. Depend upon it.
